About Susannah Ceramics
Susannah Ceramics began as a love for clay and the creative process. Ever since discovering clay, Annie had the hope of creating work that could reach people all over in all places. Ceramics are necessary for so many daily acts. Annie makes art for the everyday; coffee mugs, cereal bowls, serving platters, flower pots, dinner plates. The hope of Susannah Ceramics is for you to see the value of the handmade object, of knowing where your dishes are coming from, and of experiencing something you think is beautiful every day. If you surround yourself with beautiful things, the days seem a little more special and the repetitive acts we do to survive seem a little more sacred. Susannah Ceramics is the product of this pursuit and Annie’s attempt to sustain a creative life.
About me, Annie...
Annie (Susannah) Lunt was born in 1995 in Madison, Wisconsin and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. Her first exposure to handmade ceramic dish-ware occurred at her grandparent’s home as a child. Perhaps it has to do with the intimacy of the touch of something handmade, or the nostalgia of grandparents, but Annie has begun her proper search for the ideal utilitarian ceramic ware for the home. Her formal studies of art began at George Fox University, where she fell in love with the process of clay and the communities surrounding it. Annie is currently in the Portland, OR area playing with mud and making art for the everyday.
